I would like to propose my award title as; The award I seek as a result of doing this programme is BA(Hons) Professional Practice in Learning cycle in performing Arts.
I chose above as my award title, because, I am interested in the relationship between teaching and learning, as I mentioned before on my blog, I believe teaching is one of the best way to improve our leaning cycle to deepen the knowledge of the filed we are in.
How do people teach me?
How does that affect when I teach others?
Do I really understand what I am trying teach?
Do people really understand what they are try to teach?
Do I teach some things which I have not understand properly?
How the process of finding out answers about these equations and the process of deepening my knowledge change my thoughts and opinions? Most importantly, how these facts affect the way I am as a dancer, as a teacher, as a person?
By the process of creating BAPP blogs forces me to re think about the level of my understanding of my profession as a dancer, as a teacher. And, put me in to the situation where I must ask myself; what is the most effective way to share and make others understand the direction where I would like to take them to improve. Also, how I teach others as a teacher does improve my profession as a dancer, how does it deepen the knowledge as a practitioner?
For example; the way to improve my quality as a teacher, I must approach from not just one direction. Because I am aware the fact we are all individual and I must be able to change the style of teaching or how to approach others; as a teacher, I think I must have a variety of approaching ways to find the most direct way as quickly as possible to guide individuals.
To successfully archive that, I need experience and approach from a lot of different ways when I teach classes; I must do some experiments to see how others react in a different ways.
However, I am more than aware that the priority is always the student’s health and safety, and the improvement in dance. And, most importantly, I must make sure that, people have a good time at my class and make them want to learn more or at least I need to encourage others to carry on what they are doing, happily.
To archive or to deepen my understanding, I must do what I usually do, but, differently. To archive that, third party`s support will be necessary.
And, first, I will start from giving students the survey which I have created to improve my quality of teaching.
Then, analyse them to improve the way I approach to others as a teacher.
